  • When Tommy and Debbie Rickman of Rome, Ga., decided to build a home, they turned to one of the many magazines published by Homeplans, part of Move. Once they spotted Plan FI-3120, they instantly loved it. "When we saw it the first time, we fell in love with the picture and nothing else even looked good to us anymore," Debbie said. Just to be sure, the couple looked through about 20 other magazines. They found that they kept coming back to this plan.

Tommy and Debbie had been wanting to move to the country and had already purchased a home site. They were simply waiting for the right home to build on it. "We knew [Plan FI-3120] would be a perfect fit for our land," said Debbie. A combination of low interest rates, an affordable cost of materials, and an available builder made it the perfect time to build.

Tommy, the sheriff of Floyd County, and Debbie, an office manager at a surgery center, are looking forward to retiring and spending time with their four children and six grandchildren. The Rickmans also anxiously anticipate enjoying more time in their beautiful home. They name the openness of the main floor, plus the home's many windows, as their favorite features. A happy Debbie testified, "This home is my husband's dream house . . . and it turned out just as he dreamed it would."

With only a few modifications to the original plan, the Rickmans made great use of their stock blueprints. "I would definitely recommend stock plans because it is so easy to get them and get started," Debbie said.

The Rickmans' home-building experience proves that love at first sight truly does exist!
